Education

The dōTERRA Deep Blue product line is remarkable and loved by many dōTERRA customers. The Deep Blue essential oil blend is designed to ease pain and reduce inflammation. In my experience, this really is a blend for everyone, from those who experience chronic pain to those who just have temporary muscle tightness. Whether people use the Deep Blue Rub, the Deep Blue Stick, or the Deep Blue oil, the relief is remarkable!

There are some important differences between dōTERRA’s Deep Blue products. The Deep Blue Rub, for example, is similar to other rubs on the market, in that it provides fast-acting support to relive pain and soothe sore muscles. It is incredibly effective  because of its high concentration of naturally occurring methyl salicylate. The Deep Blue Rub also has extra ingredients that help push the dōTERRA Deep Blue oil into your tissues, so that your body gets the benefits of the Deep Blue blend faster.

The dōTERRA Deep Blue Stick (US Warehouse only) is different. The Deep Blue Stick features different ingredients, including dōTERRA’s potent Copaiba essential oil. Copaiba is renowned in the essential oil world for being an effective, natural pain killer. In addition to having the power of Copaiba, the Deep Blue Stick gives you all the soothing power of Deep Blue without any handwashing or clean-up required.

Now, you’ve likely heard about CBD oil before. CBD oil has taken the world by storm. Many people talk about how great and effective it is. What most people don’t know is that Copaiba far exceeds CBD’s expectations, and it’s cheaper too! Let’s finish this education section by learning a bit about Copaiba, which is the superstar ingredient in doTERRA’s Deep Blue Stick.

Text In Image:
Copaiba vs CBD. All of us have an ECS, or “Endocannabinoid System”, which helps our bodies by: 1) Balancing our mood, 2) Managing our appetite, 3) Relaxing our body, and 4) Reducing inflammation. Both Copaiba and CBD help us balance our ECS, but Copaiba helps more. Even though CBD is more popular, Copaiba is actually more powerful. 1. Copaiba is an essential oil which rapidly works directly on our ECS; CBD doesn’t. 2. dōTERRA’s Copaiba is pure while research shows most CBD oils have THC levels. 3. Copaiba is legal and easy to buy worldwide. CBD oil is still restricted in many areas.

Before you try the quiz, test out how well you understand Copaiba by answering a couple skill-testing questions.

Kimberley’s Journal Entry – DAY 2
What do I want for Christmas?

Hmm.. instead of someone cooking me food, imagine if I could just grow my own. I’m starting to think that the best Christmas gift would be a few CITRUS TREES.

I had not realized how high the concentration of methyl salicylate was in Wintergreen. No wonder Deep Blue works so well compared to those other rubs! Always need to have some around. I still need to get my hands on some of the Stick however.

  2. Really cool😉 Thank you for the tip on how to use the deep blue essential oil with deep blue rub. I will definitely do that. Since using deep blue on my neck I am feeling a big relief and better mobility.

  3. I didn’t know that the rub will push the oil deeper into the tissue. I will try this combination. I could have used this before my hike in the conservation area last weekend.

  4. Deep Blue is what got me enrolled in doTERRA! I joined a workshop with a killer of an earache and my enroller gave me a drop of deep blue oil to rub around my ear. She paused halfway through her presentation and asked me “so, how is your ear now?” and it was gone!

I use my deep blue stick almost every day on my lower back.

  5. I’ve never had the opportunity to try the Deep Blue product line but most recently, I dealt with a lot of knee pain and muscle soreness. I wish I would have known about Deep Blue at the time instead of using a drugstore product that really didn’t help. From what I’ve read about it, I like that you can get quick pain/muscle relief by rubbing the oil directly on the sore area, then follow it up with the Rub which helps to push the oil in to your tissue for added benefits. I look forward to trying this product as I’m exploring and learning more and more about doTerra.

  6. I really could have used deep blue a couple months ago. My husband threw out his back attempting to impress our daughter at the trampoline park. He wasn’t able to do much for almost a week. He was on muscle relaxants for a couple weeks and we could find any rubs that would help.

Reading the blog, as simple as it sounds, I had no idea why the deep blue lid was different than others. I will be extra careful now to keep it away from my little ones.

  7. I wish I had tried the Deep Blue Rub on my husband because he gets leg cramps. I ended out buying a natural Magnesium, which has helped. I just ordered the Deep Blue stick in the recent BOGOS, I am curious to try that on him as well as for me and my achy muscles. I just learned there is a difference between the rub and stick ingredients… Copaiba! 👍🏻

  8. Deep Blue was what made my husband realize essential oils do work 🙂 Aside from it being natural, I didn’t realize that it had further benefits from over the counter products such as how it moves through your tissues. I’ll check out that stick, sounds like another great product! Thanks for the info!

  9. I have used deep blue oil on hubby’s legs after a day of cycling. He loves riding into the mountains and putting serious kms on his mountain bike. After 50kms then a deep blue oil message is always welcome.

  10. It’s interesting to learn that the blue color in Deep Blue comes from Blue Tansy and that it can actually stain your clothes.
The high concentration of methyl salicylate is astonishing! 95% is alot!! And commercial creams that ar a similar type of product only have around 5%!

  11. Melissa Kottelenberg

This is so much fun! Thank-you Kimberley for organizing this and for not only teaching us more about doTERRA’s awesome products, but also for giving us the chance to win a prize along the way!

  12. I didn’t have Deep Blue for my first labour, and could’ve really used it! The second time around I came more prepared and noticed a big difference with the Deep Blue! Many other expecting Moms I’ve talked to have found this too. I didn’t know there were unique characteristics to the Deep Blue Rub Stick – sounds so good!!

  13. a-morin@hotmail.ca

I was away for a hockey tournament and forgot to pack my Deep blue stick. I really could have used my deep blue after the second game, nevermind the 4th game! It is so handy and mess free!

  14. I have not only used Deep Blue on muscle pains, but it is great on menstrual pains. Deep Blue and Padt Tense – both fantastic

From the post I learned that Deep Blue Stick is different, I had no idea of CopIba presence in it. Thank you for posting it. It will be a must get!

  15. I wish I had tried deep blue rub sooner! I have been using the oil in a roller for a while now and figured there would not be a need for the deep blue rub. Got a tube with the last BOGO, now I’m hooked!

I haven’t tried the rub with the oil as well, going to try it today because my back and neck muscles are very angry with me today, wish I could just dip myself in deep blue!

  16. That was a great read.
I didn’t know there was a deep blue stick only available in the U.S. and I also didn’t know that the cream would be more fast acting.
I also loved to learn about the endocannabinoid system and how copaiba works directly on it.
    Valuable info.

    Thank you.

My dad is a skeptic when it comes to “natural medicine” but you betcha he asks for more Deep blue rub when he runs out!

Can’t wait to try the deep blue stick, copaiba is a fave of mine!.

  18. Arlete Cevada-Marcos

My dad has RA and can’t live without the Deep Blue Stick with Copaiba! It actually acts as a topical analgesic and helps so much with his joint pain. 🙂

  19. To be fair, I do love having my Husband rub Deep Blue Rub on my neck and shoulders when they are feeling sore, but aside from the intentional benefit of it relaxing my muscles, I’ve found I sleep much better because it also opens up my air-ways (and I didn’t realize they were that closed until we started using it lol) and I have a more sound-sleep every time.
After reading Kimberley’s blog post about Deep Blue, I learned alot of neat things, but one thing that really grabbed my attention (because I’d been wondering about it for a while) is the reason why the Deep Blue Blend is not for internal use.
I learned it has to do with the Wintergreen oil in it, (and although there are scientific names to explain why, I’m just going to give the quick answer) which contains an active ingredient that comes from a family of active ingredients, that act as blood-thinners.
As much as that seems like a problem that we can’t take it internally, it’s actually not, because studies have shown that due to it’s make-up, and how the body benefits from those oils in this blend, Deep Blue does it’s best work topically and/or aromatically anyways.
P.S, Congrats to the Winners!! 🙂
