The Prize

Two (2) people will get:
1x 10 mL Peppermint Touch
1x 15 mL Vetiver Essential Oil
1x 15 mL Balance Grounding Blend
1x 10 mL InTune Focus Blend

In the comments below, share a short story about a time when you could have used one of today’s brain-boosting oils. Be sure to choose the correct oil for the situation!

Education

There are so many functions our brains do every day and so, naturally, there are many different ways we can help our brain. Today I want to focus on four key functions of our brain and what we can do to support them.

Function 01 – Focus. The ability to focus is the foundation of accomplishing anything in life. If we cannot focus, we won’t be able to complete tasks, and therefore won’t be able to reach our goals. It seems so simple, but helping our brain focus is a critical to enjoying life. doTERRA has put together two powerful essential oil blends to help with this: InTune and Thinker. InTune is a stronger, more pungent blend, while Thinker has a lighter smell and is more popular with children.

Function 02 – Recall. Almost as important as focusing is the ability to remember past events. Without the ability to remember, we feel lost and confused. Whether it’s the answers to an exam or simply someone’s name, we all want to remember clearly. doTERRA’s Vetiver essential oil is a pure and powerful option for supporting your memory. Additionally, it stimulates dreams as it allows our brain to create new connections to past experiences.

Function 03 – Energy. At first, it may seem odd to consider energy a brain function. But have you ever been really lazy and lethargic when all of a sudden you had an idea and you jumped up to go do it? Where did that energy come from? Well, it’s mental! And when our brains are full of oxygen we will feel more energized and motivated. doTERRA’s Peppermint oil powers up our blood and brain with 30% more oxygen than normal. When you need a boost, just rub a little on the back of your neck.

Function 04 – Grounding. Sometimes we have too much energy. We can get caught up in nervousness and worrying and our brain just won’t seem to stop spinning. This is when we need to ground. doTERRA’s Balance blend is has powerful compounds which help our brain take a step back and relax.

Everest’s video below is a must watch, both because it’s an amazing story and also because today’s quiz is on it! Watch what he does to overcome his mental hurdles.

  1. Since I had a concussion in 2015 ,I have a hard time to remember things from my past.
Now that I know Vetiver can help me with that problem, I will be using it more often.

    1. Balance. What can I say other then this is one of my favourite oils.
I love the smell, I love applying it and I love diffusing it. Balance is a part of my night time diffuser routine (along with lavender, cederwood & breath).

Vetifer, I have used in my diffuser for sleep before – its so thick I loose patience (LOL!), but also enjoy the smell. I should add it to my routine, maybe I’ll develop some new pathways in my brain. I can be forgetful, but find leaving myself notes helps.

After a long work day, coming home to reset and unwind is what I enjoy doing the most. Pairing my oils definitely helps me & I have shared this with so many of my friends as well.

      1. Aveline - EL Admin 2

I love the smell of Balance too! Thanks for sharing Emma – we all need the reminder, for sure! That’s why education is such a big part of it!

  2. After a day’s work, instead of being tired and exhausted it would be nice to have energy when I get home. I been adding peppermint to my diffuser and it does seem to help.

  3. My job requires me to take maintenance training as a refresher every 3 years. I always struggle with this because rather than focusing on the training I am stressing about the testing at the end. When I started using essential oils I used InTune during the session and had my best testing ever. Now when I require focus for the day I go to InTune.

  4. I suffer from migraines and headaches and I always use my peppermint touch, that’s one I always have in my purse. I also use my balance mixed with serenity in a roller ball & diffuser at night for my daughter and it helps her sleep and calms her.

  5. Louise Gaudreau

My brain never shuts off, I’m one big stress ball. I worry about so many things and what I worry about is often beyond my control. Diffusing Doterra Balance (grounding blend) would be beneficial, also rubbing the bottom of my feet ?

  6. University!!!!???
Oh man that was an eye opener!

I have always been a Top 10 student with lots of distinctions and awards until I went to uni. At uni I received 16% for my first test. Not a great start for a BSc student…

You see, in my second year I was diagnosed with ADHD. It was overlooked because I coped in school.

So I struggled my little toosh off to focus in class and to prepare for exams. I was given Concerta, it worked but the side effects was more than what I could handle. I wish I had InTune during that torture time!

  7. Charlene Saaiman

I actually use vetiver for sleeping, but did not know it could help with memory support – definitely will be doung some research on how to apply this oil to assist with this…..

I also use my daughter Thinker myself on days where I just feel I dont know even where to begin with my daily tasks, Peppermint gives me jy daily energy dose, and as mentioned I use vetiver to assist in my sleep – so basically i use these oils daily in different ways! So everyday is a story of success of using amazing oils!

    1. That is a great testimonial! I have not tried Vetiver or Thinker/Intune, but I would love to. Peppermint is my go to oil for everything!

  8. I made a focus roll-on with the oils I have at home and it works well, but it would be nice to try InTune. Staying focus can be hard sometimes.

    1. Thank you so much for sharing. I find it to be such a powerful grounding oil. Between it for grounding, and serenity for peace/calming….its a great oil!

  9. My now adult children both struggled with taking exams. They knew the material but “froze” in the situation. It would have been a true asset for them to have had Thinker to help focus as well as Balance to help them with combatting the nervousness that overcame their abilities to truly demonstrate their knowledge.

  10. I find that a lot of times when I come home for lunch I will rub peppermint oil on the back of my neck. It’s helps me not get sluggish in the afternoon. At then end of my day I still have lots of energy to do my housework. At work I’m the oldest, and I’m still going strong when others that are 17 years younger than me are exhausted and you can’t ask anything of

  11. I know a million times I could have used all of these oils! Something that really sticks out is during my University exam periods. I could have absolutely Intune/Thinker to help focus on the exam, and Vetiver for recall. What a stressful time!!!

If only I had been involved with EOs back then!

Going forward I would absolutely love to try Vetiver, Intune/Thinker. I have not tried these, but have tried peppermint (a personal top 3 oil for me) and Balance….and I am in love!! I think in my new career starting in January 2022, I could benefit from all of these oils.

I struggle with all of these issues, and would absolutely LOVE to win this package!!

    1. Aveline - EL Admin 2

I feel like many of us feel this way! i love Balance too, the smell alone is incredible 🙂 I’m sure peppermint could help anyone with energy – especially a working mama! I hope it continues to help you! Thanks for sharing and being here Tara!

  12. Oh gosh there are so many times that I could have used these brain boosting essential oils.
I would say that I really needed these oils when we started our business. It’s really hard on your brain. Me and my husband started the business, and we both work very hard every day. The work is physically and mentally very strenuous on our bodies.

    1. Aveline - EL Admin 2

Starting a business is no easy feat – especially as a married couple! I can see how these oils would’ve helped. Hopefully you’ll be able to benefit from them in the future!

  13. i love all of these oils. I did not know about Vetiver for memory. I use it in my sleep blend. I am wondering if it would help with my husband at all. He has moderate Alzheimer disease.

  14. Manuela Aspeling

I was about to write an exam at age 56. I needed some focus and used InTune on the back of my neck and my temples. The results was that I answered 50 multi choice questions in 15 min with 100%….that was awesome. ☺

  15. I use Thinker on my son at times when he is having a difficult day to help him through his daily tasks.
I use Peppermint and lavender whenever I get headaches or just pepperment whichgives me, my daily energy dose.
I basically use these oils daily in different ways!

  16. I have an autistic son, and he faces many challenges every day. It was his Fisrt Holly Communion day, the mass is usually longer, and he has trouble sitting down fir that long. I put Balance on him, worked so great, he sat through the whole mass, 1.5 hrs, was focused and attentive, many people that know him would come up to me congratulating and saying how beautiful he did and how proud they were of him!
We use Many oils, Thinker, Balance, Vertices, InTune , Adaptive, they really work!

    1. Aveline - EL Admin 2

What an encouraging story Julita! I’m so glad they’ve helped your son! I’m sure those oils would be great in other situations, too!

  17. I have worked in many jobs where you are multi-tasking numerous items in a short window which are all urgent. At the end of the day you are exhausted, but the brain is still spinning, it results in the inability to rest or sleep. I suspect using grounding plus lavender oil with some others would have made a big difference to relax and sleep in the evening.

Using energy would of given me an extra boost during the day to get through the urgent items more quickly.

  18. I regularly use peppermint and vetiver. Peppemint on the back of my neck before my 6:15 am spin class to give me a boost of energy and around the contour of my hairline when I have a headache. I diffuse vetiver every night to help turn off the hamster running in my head and to help me sleep. As for Balance, I add a few drops to my dryer balls when drying my bed sheets. I’m doing much better overall with these 3 EO, as well as others.

  19. Awhile back, I was enrolled in a Clinical Research Course through the Michener Institute. For my course, I was required to write an essay. I diligently researched the topic, and had tonnes of resources, but I became so overwhelmed that I started to panic! I wasn’t sure what references to keep, and how to improve the flow of the essay. I was in tears! I had worked on it for over eight hours!

I sure could have used some “Balance” – as this would have stopped my brain from spinning. “In Tune” would have been great too as it would have given me some clarity. I know that in future these will be so beneficial.

    1. Aveline - EL Admin 2

The stresses of education can be daunting, and we often don’t recognize the mental strain they can sometimes cause! I hope these oils will benefit you in the future!

  20. I often use Balance in my bath to help me calm my brain and clear my head, especially after a nervous, anxious, or stressful day. I also love putting it on the soles of my feet when I start my day.

  21. In Tune is an oil I dont have. I’m a grade 2/3 teacher. This blend sounds like the perfect oil for an afternoon boost to focus through the rest of the afternoon. This would also be perfect to put on at the start of my planning period when I need to get down to business. I do have thinker in my son’s kit…I’m going to try it!

  22. I could have used Vetiver when I had my Herbology exam a month and a half ago. But at least I know the benefits of it now. I’ll have to add it to my collection soon. 🙂

  23. A time when I could have used InTune, we were moving offices and had an abundance of tasks to complete simultaneously. I struggled with keeping on task and felt scattered, Intune and likely balance would have allowed me to step back reassess and get more focused.

Like to know a combo of oils that may have worked in Everests case other than the blends. Some single oils for focus.

  24. Roberta Adderley

InTune roller makes amazing improvements for me at work. I have my own brain fog that makes it difficult at times to focus clearly in a chaotic and over stimulating work environment.

  25. elmienkrull@gmail.com

I feel like I really need to try in tune. This last year my brain feels foggy. I have no mental energy to start any new projects. Will definitely try it.

  26. I really wished I had InTune when my ADHD son was growing up. It would have made a difference.

I used InTune and Motivate to help me when I was working. It helped me to focus and to remember people’s names and specific details.

    1. Aveline - EL Admin 2

Ah wow that’s great that it’s helped you and hopefully your experience will speak to many who were in your situation!

  27. I have son with similar issues to Everest. My son is 13, and he has ADHD & he too has difficulties with concentration and focus.

So we have purchased some oils to help him in school and we will be purchasing the (Focus) blends to help him concentrate and to learn. The (intune) just arrived, and we will be testing it out.
But I do believe that many of our children in schools today would benefit from this oil, instead of pushing the (psychotropic) med’s that schools often suggest parents give to their children.

  28. I have never used Intune and Thinker and after learning more about them I will be have to place an order for next month. I believe Intune sounds like a blend that is need for these times. With all the stress and EMF’s being beamed at us I’ve heard from many of my clients that they find it more difficult to stay focused.
